The three Marin candidates include California Coastal Commissioner Sara Aminzadeh, Marin County Supervisor Damon Connolly and Ida Times-Green, board president of the Sausalito Marin City School District. Steve Schwartz, the lone candidate from Sonoma County, leads a nonprofit food collaborative.

We know he will serve the North Bay and the state of California well.”

While in Sacramento, he was a board member at Congregation B’nai Israel, one of three area synagogues firebombed in 1999. “That woke me up,” Schwartz says, adding that it strengthened his commitment to the importance of working across faith communities to combat hate.

An entrepreneur from Sonoma County will compete in the June 7 primary to replace Assemblyman Marc Levine.
