MEET STEVE

The son of an immigrant, Steve Schwartz's dedication to the community and public service runs deep. Steve climbed to the rank of Eagle Scout, served in the Peace Corps, was a graduate fellow at the US Environmental Protection Agency, and was Chief of Staff to two California Assemblymembers. Schwartz, 56 years old, has more than 25 years of experience leading non-profit organizations that have had local, state, and national impacts.

As an elected leader on the Gravenstein Union School District Board, Steve Schwartz earned the respect of many as he supported teachers and fought for equity in programming to serve all students. His broader board leadership experience includes International Farm Transition Network, California Reinvestment Coalition, Sonoma County Farm Trails, and  Congregation B’nai Israel.

Steve lives and works in the newly created 12th Assembly District years where he raised his daughters and operates a small Sonoma County organic farm. Steve has supported Marin and Sonoma County farmers since 1998, through FarmLink and serving on the Marin Food Policy Council since 2013.
